Vector Optics PARAGON 6×21 GenIII BFC takes the traditional laser rangefinder to the next level with its integrated digital ballistic calculator. It not only measures the distance to the target but also calculates the required riflescope adjustment in MIL/MRAD clicks based on your configured ballistic profile. Ballistic data is managed through the free AB Quantum app, which includes the Ultralite ammunition database. The laser system measures from 5 to 1,850 m / 5 to 2,000 yd on highly reflective targets, delivers ±1 yard accuracy, and provides an ultra-fast 0.25-second response time. Depending on the target, the manufacturer specifies ranges of up to 1,650 m for buildings, 1,200 m for large trees, and 825 m for deer-sized game. The unit also features a continuous SCAN mode for tracking multiple targets and an angle measurement function that calculates the true horizontal distance when shooting uphill or downhill. Its optical system includes 6× magnification, a 21 mm objective lens, and FMC-coated optics, while the high-contrast OLED display shows both measured and calculated values directly in the field of view. Despite its advanced functionality, the PARAGON remains highly compact, measuring just 105 × 76 × 42 mm and weighing only 137 g. It is powered by a single CR2 battery, and the automatic power-off function after 20 seconds helps preserve battery life.
The BFC (Ballistic Firing Calculator) expands standard distance measurement with a digital ballistic calculation. After entering the required ballistic data, the rangefinder calculates the necessary scope correction and displays the required number of adjustment clicks.
AB Quantum is used to create and manage ballistic profiles required for correction calculations. It also includes the Ultralite ammunition database.
A conventional rangefinder primarily measures the distance to a target. The PARAGON GenIII BFC also uses that measured distance to perform ballistic calculations, providing the required scope adjustment for a more accurate shot.
