Specna Arms PTFE grease for gears and mechanical parts

This expert product description was prepared by the ANAREUS.cz expert team. All rights to this unique content are bound to the anareus.cz domain.Specna Arms PTFE grease is a service lubricant designed primarily for mechanically stressed moving parts of airsoft guns. It contains particles of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, commonly known as Teflon), which help create a low-friction film between contact surfaces, reducing friction and limiting wear. In an AEG gearbox, it is particularly suitable for gears, the steel piston rack and mechanical sliding surfaces. Good lubricant adhesion is also important at high gear speeds, as it helps prevent the grease from being quickly displaced or thrown off the lubricated area. PTFE grease is therefore a suitable choice for routine servicing of both standard and upgraded AEG rifles. For O-rings and air seal components, however, we recommend silicone grease, while ceramic grease can be used for extremely stressed gear setups. When applying grease, a simple rule applies – less is more. Excess lubricant increases mechanical resistance, attracts dirt and may spread during operation to areas that should remain dry. In particular, the hop-up bucking and inner barrel must not come into contact with grease.

Key features of Specna Arms PTFE grease

PTFE for reduced friction

The addition of PTFE, commonly known as Teflon, helps create a low-friction layer between mechanical components, reducing friction and wear.

For gearbox gears

Suitable for lubricating the bevel, spur and sector gears of both standard and upgraded AEG gear sets.

Piston rack and sliding surfaces

It can also be used on the steel piston rack and mechanically stressed sliding surfaces, where it helps reduce friction.

For regular AEG servicing

A versatile choice for standard gear setups as well as many upgraded gearboxes where a durable, well-adhering lubricant is required.

50 g service package

The practical package provides enough grease for repeated servicing and regular maintenance of airsoft guns.

Recommendations and warnings

  • Apply only a thin and even layer of grease to the gears. Excess lubricant does not provide better protection and may be dispersed throughout the gearbox at high speeds.
  • For O-rings and air seal components, we recommend using silicone grease suitable for sealing elements.
  • Do not apply grease to the hop-up bucking or inner barrel. Grease can significantly impair hop-up performance, accuracy and range.
  • During a complete service, it is advisable to remove old and contaminated grease before applying fresh lubricant and to inspect the condition of the gears and other mechanical components.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What is PTFE grease used for in airsoft?

Primarily for lubricating gears, the piston rack and mechanical sliding surfaces. PTFE helps reduce friction between moving components and limits their wear.

What is the difference between PTFE and silicone grease?

PTFE grease is primarily intended for mechanically stressed gears and sliding surfaces, while silicone grease is mainly used in airsoft for O-rings, seals and air seal components.

How much PTFE grease should I apply to the gears?

Apply only a thin, even layer to the working surfaces of the gears. Too much grease does not improve lubrication; it only increases resistance, attracts dirt and may be thrown onto other parts of the gearbox at high speeds.
