The Fenix HL40R zoom rechargeable headlamp delivers up to 600 lumens (ANSI) and a range of up to 147 meters. Power is provided by a built-in 2000 mAh lithium polymer battery that charges via a micro-USB connector directly in the headlamp. The light source is a modern LED Cree XP-L HI V2, its light is directed by special TIR (Total Internal Reflection) optics with the possibility of adjusting the width of the light cone (zoom function).

A total of 7 power modes are available, including an SOS flash mode for emergency situations. Despite the adjustable optics, the head torch retains its IP66 waterproof rating, so it can withstand heavy rain without problems. The headlamp strap is equipped with reflective elements that ensure good omnidirectional visibility when moving on the road. Thanks to the weight of only 130 grams, the Fenix HL40R is perfect for hiking, search and rescue, as a headlamp for running, camping, photography, headlamp for fishermen and other activities.

All headlamp parameters (lumen output, battery life, waterproof, range and shockproof) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Usage:

Holding the right (main) button for 0.5 seconds will always turn the headlamp on to 70 lumens mode. Further presses of this button can be used to switch between 30 - 70 - 130 - 300 lumen modes at any time during operation. Burst mode (600 lumens) is activated by holding the right button for 1.2 seconds (even when the headlamp is switched off). Pressing the right button again returns the headlamp to its original mode.

Holding the left (smaller) button for 0.5 seconds always switches the headlamp to 4 lumens mode (suitable for reading, for example). Further presses of this button can be used to switch between 4 lumens and SOS mode.

The cone width is adjusted by turning the ring around the optics. Clockwise rotation narrows the cone, anti-clockwise rotation widens the cone.

Battery indication - after a short press of the left button (the headlamp must be switched off) the LED battery indicator on the top of the headlamp is activated. Four lit LEDs indicate that the battery is over 80% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one lit 20-40% and one flashing LED indicates that the battery is less than 20% charged.

Overheat protection - operation on Burst mode is limited to 1 minute at a time, after which the headlamp will return to the previous lighting mode.

Control buttons can be locked to prevent spontaneous switching on, e.g. when transporting in luggage - hold both buttons down for 3 seconds. The flashlight will then flash. To unlock, hold both buttons again for 3 seconds.

Charging:

Unclip the rubber cap of the micro USB connector on the back of the headlamp and use the included USB cable to plug it into a computer, mains USB adapter or car USB adapter. Alternatively, any mobile phone charger with a micro USB connector can be used for charging.
During charging, the four indicator LEDs on the top gradually light up, after a full charge they all light up permanently.
Charging time for a fully discharged battery takes about 4 hours.
The battery used does not suffer from a memory effect, so the headlamps can be recharged at any time.
Thoroughly seal the USB connector cap after each charge.
The headlamp can be switched on while charging, but only in 4 lumens mode.

Warning:

Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, it will violate the warranty.
If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
The battery is almost dead - charge it.
