It fits over the rear of the stock, where it provides a softer, less slippery surface for shouldering the gun. This is particularly useful when holding the gun for extended periods, quickly transitioning between targets or handling it while wearing tactical gear, when a smooth plastic stock can slide more easily against clothing. The rubber also protects the rear of the stock against scratches and impacts during normal use. The pad weighs 100 g, so a slight increase in weight at the rear of the gun should be expected.
