Specna Arms silicone grease – essential maintenance for seals and pneumatic systems

This expert product description was prepared by the ANAREUS.cz expert team. All rights to this unique content are bound to the anareus.cz domain.Specna Arms silicone grease is a universal service lubricant designed primarily for areas where you need to reduce friction while protecting rubber and plastic components. In airsoft, it is particularly useful for maintaining AEG pneumatic systems, O-rings, seals, gas magazines, valves and selected parts of HPA systems. A thin layer of lubricant helps keep sealing components flexible, prevents them from drying out and supports proper compression. Silicone grease is also suitable for less heavily loaded plastic-to-plastic or plastic-to-metal sliding contacts. For heavily loaded gearbox gears, however, specialised lubricants with PTFE or ceramic additives are a better choice. When applying the grease, one simple rule applies – less is more. Excess grease merely attracts dirt and can reach areas where lubrication is undesirable. In particular, the hop-up bucking and inner barrel must remain clean and dry, as grease significantly reduces the hop-up system's ability to impart backspin to the BB.

Key features of Specna Arms silicone grease

For O-rings and seals

Ideal for regular maintenance of rubber sealing components, helping them retain their flexibility and proper sealing properties.

AEG pneumatic systems

Applied in a thin layer, it is suitable for the piston head O-ring and other sealing components of the pneumatic system, where it helps reduce friction and maintain proper compression.

GBB and HPA systems

Useful for servicing seals and valve components of gas magazines and HPA components.

50 g service package

The practical package provides enough lubricant for repeated servicing and regular maintenance of airsoft guns.

Recommendations and warnings

  • Always apply the grease in a thin layer only. Using more grease does not improve lubrication and may attract dirt.
  • Do not apply grease to the hop-up bucking or inside the inner barrel. Grease reduces the friction required for proper hop-up operation and can significantly impair accuracy and range.
  • For heavily loaded gearbox gears, use suitable PTFE or ceramic grease.
  • When servicing HPA regulators and other pressurised equipment, always follow the recommendations of the specific component manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What is silicone grease used for in airsoft?

Primarily for O-rings, seals and pneumatic systems. It can be used in AEG, GBB and HPA systems wherever silicone lubricant is suitable for the specific material and component.

Can I use silicone grease on gearbox gears?

It is not the optimal choice for heavily loaded gears. PTFE or ceramic grease is more suitable for gears, as it withstands high contact pressure and mechanical loads more effectively.

How much grease should I use on the piston O-ring?

Only a very small amount forming a thin, continuous film is required. The O-ring should be lightly lubricated, not covered in a thick layer of grease.

Can I use silicone grease on the hop-up bucking?

No. The contact surface of the hop-up bucking must remain clean and dry. Grease reduces friction between the bucking and the BB, which can significantly impair backspin, accuracy and range.
