The front features 9 ventilation holes through which air flows beneath the sealing O-ring during compression. The pressure expands the O-ring towards the cylinder wall, helping to provide an effective seal for the piston assembly. The head weighs only 10.8 g and its surface is finished with high-quality nickel plating for a very smooth surface. The design also incorporates an axial ball bearing that allows the spring to rotate more freely during compression, reducing unwanted twisting and contributing to longer spring life. The plastic nut helps reduce the overall weight of the assembly. According to the manufacturer, the piston head is compatible with all types of gearboxes. In a test with a standard air seal system and an M120 spring, the manufacturer measured an approximate muzzle velocity increase of 5 m/s, although the actual performance change always depends on the air seal, cylinder, nozzle, barrel and other components of the specific build.
