The hop-up bucking is one of the most important components affecting the accuracy and range of your airsoft weapon, alongside a precision inner barrel, chamber pressure system, and high-quality BBs. To achieve better range and accuracy, there is no need to excessively increase muzzle velocity. It’s akin to adding more gas to a car without a proper steering wheel. Finding the perfect setup is an art, and every player has their own ideal combination.
Hop-up buckings come in various designs, tailored for different types of inner barrels (AEG/HPA, GBB/VSR, Hybrid), muzzle velocities (shore hardness), environmental conditions (standard or silicone buckings), and specific purposes (range or accuracy).
The longer and wider the contact surface with the BB, the greater the range it can achieve, but it might sacrifice accuracy compared to buckings with an arrow/diamond-shaped nub. This nub initially engages the BB with its full width, gradually narrowing to guide the BB to a single point, thus enhancing precision and grouping, but it provides less backspin necessary for greater distances compared to wider nubs.

Warnings

• The recommended muzzle velocity is based on the BB weight used. For example, if you shoot 0.36 g BBs, the recommended muzzle velocity is measured with them.
• Suitable BB weight and recommended muzzle velocity are indicative and must be tested in each setup to find the best combination.

Recommendations

1. Place the bucking precisely into the hop-up window cutout and use the lower guide groove on the barrel to ensure even installation.
2. Before inserting into the chamber, lightly lubricate the outer surface of the bucking with silicone oil (suitable for rubber materials) for easier installation. Never lubricate the inner part of the bucking.
3. Do not force the barrel with the bucking into the chamber.
4. Before installation in the weapon, ensure that the BB passes through the inner barrel.
5. Check the alignment of the hop-up nub in the chamber for proper function (accuracy), ensuring the nub does not tilt to one side, which would cause the BB to curve.
6. New buckings require a "break-in" period; it is recommended to shoot 200-400 BBs before achieving a consistent hop-up effect (depending on BB weight and muzzle velocity).
7. Initial shots should be made with only slight hop-up pressure. Following this process will provide much more consistent shots compared to immediately setting the maximum desired hop-up pressure.
