ProTech DUO PACK is a maintenance set containing 10 ml of silicone grease and 10 ml of PTFE grease. Two different lubricants cover the main requirements when maintaining an airsoft gun. Silicone grease is intended primarily for O-rings, seals and air-seal components, while PTFE grease is designed for gears and mechanically stressed sliding surfaces.

When servicing an airsoft gun, it matters which lubricant you use and where you apply it. This is why ProTech offers the DUO PACK with silicone and PTFE grease, giving you two lubricants for different parts of the gearbox. Silicone grease is particularly suitable for O-rings, seals, pistons and AEG air-seal components, and can also be used for maintaining suitable sealing components in gas-powered and HPA airsoft systems. It helps reduce friction, protects against moisture and operates across a wide temperature range from −50 to 200 °C. The second part of the set is PTFE grease with added lithium, intended primarily for metal mechanical components. In a gearbox, it is particularly suitable for gears and other mechanically stressed sliding surfaces, where it creates a durable lubricating film and helps reduce friction and wear. It is water-resistant and the manufacturer specifies an operating range of −40 to 250 °C. The DUO PACK therefore makes practical sense for servicing, as it provides silicone for seals and air-seal components, and PTFE for gears and mechanical parts. With both lubricants, only a thin, even layer is required. The hop-up bucking and inner barrel must remain clean and dry.

ANAREUS tip: With both greases, the rule is less is more. Apply the lubricant only in a thin, even layer. During a complete service, first remove the old and contaminated grease. Never lubricate the hop-up bucking or inner barrel, as grease in these areas can significantly impair BB spin, accuracy and range.
A simple rule is: silicone grease for O-rings, seals and air-seal components; PTFE grease for gears and mechanical sliding surfaces. This is exactly why the DUO PACK is practical – you have both basic types of lubricant in one package for routine servicing.
Use PTFE grease on the bevel, spur and sector gears. Apply only a thin, even layer to the working surfaces of the teeth. Too much grease does not improve lubrication; instead, it increases resistance, traps dirt and can be thrown around the gearbox at high speeds.
Use silicone grease for the piston head O-ring and other suitable sealing components of the air-seal system. Only a very small amount is required to create a thin, continuous film – the O-ring should be lightly lubricated, not covered with a thick layer of grease.
No. The hop-up bucking and inner barrel must remain clean and dry. Grease on the bucking's contact surface reduces the friction required to impart spin to the BB and can significantly impair accuracy, consistency and range.
During a complete service, it is advisable to remove old and contaminated lubricant first, clean the components and inspect their condition. Then apply the new grease only in a thin layer to the areas where it is actually required.
