In front of the front lens, it creates a fine Honeycomb mesh that reduces the amount of light reflected forward towards the target area. This makes the red dot sight less conspicuous when used in direct sunlight while also reducing distracting reflections when aiming. For airsoft, the killflash has an even more important function: the mesh creates a mechanical barrier in front of the lens and can stop a direct hit from an airsoft BB that could otherwise damage the optic. The construction is made from aluminium alloy and simply screws onto the red dot sight using an external thread. The killflash can be used as additional protection or as a replacement for the original damaged killflash supplied with MAVERICK Gen3 red dot sights.
