Tridos OwlSet Nano Titanium Killflash
The Tridos titanium lens protector is designed for anyone who doesn't want to risk damaging the expensive lens of a thermal monocular during airsoft games. Its solid titanium construction absorbs the energy of incoming BBs and protects your optic even from close-range hits. Compared to inexpensive steel mesh protectors, it has less impact on image quality and introduces noticeably less distortion. With its 30 mm diameter, it is designed for compact thermal monoculars such as the OwlSet 1.2×10, OwlSet 1.2×10 Nano, and the Guide TE211 series. Installation uses the T1 / T2 footprint, allowing easy attachment via a standard red dot sight mount to a Picatinny rail (mount not included). We also offer a replacement pack of 2 titanium mesh inserts as well as a top RIS rail for mounting a red dot sight directly onto the thermal monocular.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How much does it affect the thermal image?
Less than traditional steel mesh protectors. The fine titanium mesh is barely noticeable and most users quickly stop noticing it during use.
Can it withstand close-range hits?
Yes. Under typical airsoft power levels of around 1.7–2.3 J, it withstands repeated close-range impacts.
Can I mount it directly onto a rail?
No. You need a T1 / T2 base or riser, just like with a red dot sight. You can also use a Vector Optics RUM™ mount used with MAVERICK red dot sights (Gen 1, 2 and 3; Gen 4 uses a different footprint).
Is it better than glass or acrylic protection?
Definitely for thermal optics. Acrylic or polycarbonate could distort the thermal image or retain heat, making the thermal monocular ineffective. The titanium mesh allows thermal imaging to pass through with minimal impact, making it one of the best practical protection solutions for airsoft.
