It is designed as a protective layer against wind and light precipitation that, thanks to its minimal packed size, can always be kept in your backpack. The jacket is made from proprietary WindPack® Nylon with a fabric weight of just 40 g/m², which is lightweight, quick-drying and helps dissipate excess body heat. The outer DWR (Durable Water Repellency) treatment repels water and provides protection during light rain or snowfall. However, this is not a fully waterproof jacket designed for prolonged heavy rain. A major advantage is the ability to pack the entire jacket into its own chest pocket, creating a compact package that fits even into a smaller backpack pocket. The spacious hood with an elastic edge and drawcord can be adjusted to fit the head, while the bottom hem can also be tightened and elastic cuffs help prevent wind from entering the sleeves. The long front zipper features a chin and neck guard at the top. In warm weather, TRAMONTANE can be worn directly over a T-shirt, while in cooler temperatures it works as a lightweight outer layer over a fleece or sweatshirt. Thanks to its low weight and unrestricted freedom of movement, it is ideal for hiking, bushcraft, airsoft, travel, training and everyday wear.

Is the TRAMONTANE a waterproof jacket?

This is not a conventional waterproof jacket designed for prolonged rain. The fabric features a water-repellent DWR treatment that helps handle light rain or snowfall. The jacket's primary purpose is protection against wind while maintaining very low weight and excellent packability.

Is the jacket also suitable for cooler weather?

Yes, but it depends on proper layering. In warm weather, you can wear it as a lightweight protective layer over a T-shirt, while in spring or autumn it can be combined with a fleece sweatshirt, for example. The windbreaker itself does not provide significant thermal insulation.
