This is not an ordinary AEG, as the electric mechanism moves the Recoil Shock weight with every shot and produces mechanical recoil, giving the shooter noticeable feedback. When used with an original Tokyo Marui Next-Gen AK magazine, the gun also features automatic firing stop after the last BB has been fired. After inserting a loaded magazine, the system is reactivated using the functional bolt mechanism. The AK Storm also significantly modernises the classic AK ergonomics. The gun features an M4 / AR15-style buffer tube and telescopic stock, enlarged magazine well area (magwell), ergonomic pistol grip and a handguard with an M-LOK interface. The RIS rail allows the installation of a red dot sight or other optics, while additional accessories can be attached using the M-LOK slots and supplied rails. Enlarged controls make handling easier even when wearing tactical gloves. The muzzle features a standard 14 mm CCW thread for mounting a suppressor, compensator or tracer unit. Battery selection warning

• For this gun, we recommend exclusively an 8.4V NiMH battery.
• The electronics and electrical system of the Tokyo Marui NGRS are sensitive to an incorrectly selected battery, and using an excessively powerful battery may cause damage to or failure of the gun's electronic components.
• Some retail versions and international sources also recommend a 7.4V Li-Po battery for the AK Storm. However, a Li-Po battery cannot be assessed solely by its nominal voltage. Its capacity, C-rating and ability to deliver high current are also important. A conventional 7.4V Li-Po battery with approximately 15–20C may represent a considerably milder configuration than a high-current battery, but the 7.4 V designation alone does not guarantee that a specific battery is suitable.
• If you decide to use a 7.4V Li-Po or Li-Ion battery, you do so at your own risk, as with a previously used gun it is not possible to reliably verify the parameters of all batteries with which it has been operated.
• Damage to the electronics or electrical system caused by the use of an unsuitable, excessively powerful or high-voltage battery is not a manufacturing defect and cannot be accepted as a valid warranty claim.

Which battery do we recommend for the Tokyo Marui AK Storm?

We recommend exclusively an 8.4V NiMH battery. Although some AK Storm specifications also mention a 7.4V Li-Po, its actual current delivery capability depends, among other things, on its capacity and C-rating. The use of a Li-Po or Li-Ion battery is therefore at your own risk. Do not use an 11.1V Li-Po / Li-Ion battery.

Is a 7.4V Li-Po battery the same as an 8.4V NiMH?

No. Similar voltage does not mean identical electrical characteristics. A Li-Po battery has different characteristics and may deliver significantly higher current. Therefore, not every 7.4V Li-Po battery can automatically be considered a safe replacement for an 8.4V NiMH. If you want to minimise the risk of damaging the electronics, use the recommended 8.4V NiMH.

How does NGRS Recoil Shock work in the AK Storm?

NGRS stands for Next Generation Recoil Shock. During firing, the electric mechanism moves a weight and generates a mechanical impulse, so the shooter feels recoil with every shot. However, it is still an electric AEG, not a gas-powered GBBR rifle.

Can standard AK magazines be used in the AK Storm?

According to the product specifications, the supplied adapter also allows the use of standard compatible AK magazines. However, to retain the automatic firing stop function after the last BB has been fired, the corresponding Tokyo Marui Next-Gen magazines must be used.
