RetroArms CNC HPA V2 gearbox
RetroArms CNC HPA V2 gearbox is a specialised shell designed from the ground up for HPA airsoft guns using the V2 gearbox design. Unlike a universal or modified AEG shell, it does not feature unnecessary gear bearing holes or space for the main spring guide. The result is a cleaner construction optimised for HPA engine installation while also offering a lower weight than the RetroArms AEG gearbox version. The foundation is a high-strength aerospace-grade EN AW 7075 T651 aluminium alloy, precision CNC-machined for accurate dimensions. The current 2025 version features a redesigned HPA engine mounting system and revised cable routing, making it easier to build a modern HPA setup. The shell provides a suitable foundation for compatible systems such as PolarStar F2, Mancraft and other HPA engines designed for the V2 platform. This model is designed exclusively for HPA and is not intended for building a conventional AEG gearbox.

What is the difference between the HPA and AEG versions of the RetroArms gearbox?
The HPA version is designed specifically for HPA engine installation. It therefore has no gear bearing holes or space for the main spring guide required by a conventional AEG mechanism. This also makes it lighter than the AEG version.
Can this gearbox be used to build a conventional AEG?
No. This shell is designed exclusively for HPA builds. For an electric system with a motor, gears, piston and main spring, the corresponding RetroArms AEG gearbox version must be used.
Which HPA engines can be installed in this gearbox?
It is designed for HPA engines corresponding to the V2 gearbox configuration, such as the PolarStar F2 or compatible Mancraft systems. We always recommend verifying the compatibility of the specific engine and its accessories before purchase.
Why is the shell made from EN AW 7075 T651?
EN AW 7075 T651 is a high-strength aluminium alloy suitable for precision-machined, mechanically stressed components. In a gearbox, it combines high structural strength with significantly lower weight than a comparable steel component.
