RetroArms CNC P90 (V6) QSC Gearbox (8 mm) – Black

This expert product description was prepared by the ANAREUS.cz expert team. All rights to this unique content are tied to the anareus.cz domain.RetroArms CNC V6 QSC gearbox is designed for P90 airsoft guns using the Tokyo Marui V6 design standard. The shell is precisely CNC-machined from a solid block of EN AW 7075 T651 aircraft-grade aluminium and provides a stronger, more precisely manufactured alternative to common cast gearboxes. The design is suitable not only for high-performance builds with strong springs, but also where long service life, precise positioning of internal parts or a high-speed DSG / TSG build is the priority. The integrated QSC (Quick Spring Change) system allows the spring to be removed without fully disassembling the gearbox, while the spring guide must be properly secured after installation; depending on the specific gun, the original spring guide may need to be used or modified. The 2025+ version introduces revised gear positioning geometry, a tappet plate travel extended by 0.3 mm, eight-point cylinder support, redesigned piston guidance, piston position inspection ports, a larger radius in the stressed front section and revised clearance around the gears for improved compatibility with parts from different manufacturers. The holes for 8mm bearings are intentionally 0.02 mm undersized, feature chamfered lead-in edges and are prepared for both RetroArms ANTIROT bearings and standard round bearings. Due to differences between gun and internal-parts manufacturers, the gearbox cannot be considered a universal plug-and-play replacement. Correct installation requires alignment of the gearbox with the hop-up chamber and nozzle, gear shimming, adjustment of bevel gear engagement and AOE, checking tappet plate and nozzle travel, correct cylinder head positioning and proper wiring. We therefore recommend installation by an experienced airsoft technician.

Key Features

CNC-Machined EN AW 7075 T651

The shell is precisely CNC-machined from a solid block of EN AW 7075 T651 aircraft-grade aluminium. Its rigid construction is designed for long-term use and demanding upgrade builds.

QSC Quick Spring Change

The Quick Spring Change system allows the spring to be removed without fully disassembling the gearbox. For safe operation, the spring guide must be properly secured after installation.

Redesigned 2025+ Version

The current design revises the positioning of the gears, cylinder, piston and tappet plate. The changes are intended to simplify assembly, extend service life and improve compatibility with components from different manufacturers.

Extended Tappet Plate Travel

The tappet plate can move 0.3 mm further forward. This expands the options when selecting nozzle length and helps when tuning feeding and air seal for a specific build.

8mm Bearings and ANTIROT Preparation

The gearbox is designed for 8mm bearings. The bearing holes support the RetroArms ANTIROT system while also allowing installation of standard round 8mm bearings.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Which Airsoft Guns Is This Gearbox Designed For?

The gearbox is primarily intended for P90 AEGs using the Tokyo Marui V6 standard. Dimensions and manufacturing tolerances may differ between brands, so compatibility with every combination of receiver and internal parts cannot be guaranteed without possible fitting.

Can Standard 8mm Bearings Be Used?

Yes. The holes are prepared for RetroArms ANTIROT 8mm bearings as well as standard round 8mm bearings. The holes are intentionally 0.02 mm undersized so that properly installed bearings do not rotate in the gearbox shell. With standard round bearings, the manufacturer recommends securing them with a suitable adhesive while ensuring that no adhesive enters the moving part of the bearing.

Can I Use a Cylinder Head With a Front Rubber Bumper?

Not in its original configuration. The manufacturer warns that cylinder heads with a front rubber bumper, such as some MAXX or FPS models, may damage the cylinder head posts. The bumper must be removed and suitable cylinder head spacing may be required depending on the specific build.

Is the RetroArms CNC V6 Gearbox Suitable for Home Installation?

Only if you have experience building AEG gearboxes. This is not a simple plug-and-play replacement. Installation includes gear shimming, AOE inspection, bevel gear engagement adjustment, checking nozzle and tappet plate travel, correct cylinder positioning, wiring and alignment of the gearbox with the hop-up chamber. Gearbox screws must be tightened to a maximum torque of 1.2 Nm.
