RetroArms CNC upgrade gearbox for the ASG CZ Scorpion EVO 3 platform delivers outstanding strength and long-term reliability even with stronger springs. The shell is CNC machined from a single block of EN AW 7075 T651 aluminum, eliminating weak points typical for cast alloy gearboxes. The design is dimensioned for high-power setups, but its main benefit is improved stability, more precise gear alignment, and extended service life under standard and heavy load. The QSC system allows quick spring changes without full gearbox disassembly. Installation requires advanced technical skills, including gear shimming, AOE adjustment, correct motor engagement, and proper centering of the gearbox inside the receiver. This is not a plug-and-play replacement.

Is the Gearbox Designed for 8mm Bearings?
Yes, the gearbox is designed for 8mm bearings. The bearing holes are intentionally 0.02 mm smaller to provide a tighter fit and help prevent the bearings from rotating. When using standard bearings, the manufacturer recommends securing them with a suitable adhesive.
Can a Cylinder Head With a Rubber Buffer Be Used?
No. The manufacturer does not recommend using cylinder heads with a rubber buffer on the front, such as some MAXX or FPS Softair models. The buffer may cause damage to the cylinder head locating pins.
Is the RetroArms CNC Gearbox a Plug-and-Play Replacement?
No, installation requires advanced technical experience. During assembly, the gears must be properly shimmed, the AOE and motor engagement must be adjusted, and the gearbox must then be correctly centred in the gun body. We therefore recommend having it installed by an experienced airsoft technician.
