Specna Arms Daniel Defense® MK18 10.5" Gen2 (SA-F19 FLEX™ HAL ETU™) uses a lightweight yet durable FLEX™ Series nylon AR15 receiver reinforced with fibreglass, which has a realistic matte appearance while being able to withstand more demanding use because it is stronger than cheap metal alloy receivers. This model comes with an official Daniel Defense® licence. The nylon outer barrel with a 14 mm CCW thread and steel components such as screws, pins and ejection port parts provide strength where it is needed. The result is an extremely lightweight yet durable assault rifle that is easy to handle and ideal for CQB games and a dynamic play style. The controls of the AR15 (M4) platform are intuitive and easy to get used to. It also features an ambidextrous charging handle, a clear fire selector and easy access to hop-up adjustment through the ejection port. The MK18 RIS handguard allows accessories such as a foregrip, tactical flashlight or laser PEQ box to be mounted. The spacious Crane Stock with QD sling attachment points provides stable support for accurate aimed fire. The battery is installed in the buffer tube, so a Buffer Stick battery must be used, or larger Nunchuk and Crane batteries can be placed inside the stock. Overall, this is a capable rifle combining low weight, a proven design and excellent Gen2 internal parts in one affordable package. Important instructions before using the gun

Before you can fire the gun, you must activate the HAL ETU unit and follow this procedure exactly; otherwise, the gun will not respond to the connected battery:

1. Move the fire selector to the Safe position.
2. Connect the battery and wait 3 seconds until you hear a beep.
3. Press and hold the trigger for 5 seconds until you hear another beep.
4. The gun is now ready to use.

What type of battery is most suitable for the gun?

To make full use of the HAL ETU™ potential, choose an 11.1V Li-Po or Li-Ion Buffer Stick battery that fits inside the buffer tube.

How durable is the nylon receiver compared with metal?

The fibreglass-reinforced FLEX™ receiver is surprisingly strong and more durable than cheap alloys. It is more than sufficient for regular and more demanding gameplay; it simply does not have the same "cold metal feel" as a full-metal receiver.

Is it worth upgrading the gun immediately?

Usually not. The Gen2 internals (Æther™ gearbox, TDC hop-up and 6.03 mm barrel) are very good for this category. Upgrades make more sense later depending on your play style – typically the hop-up bucking or spring.
