It is made from silicon-chromium alloy valve spring wire (SiCr), which is also used for highly stressed industrial springs. Thanks to its progressive winding, it provides smoother gearbox operation.

AirsoftPro AEG Progressive Spring

The spring is one of the most important components affecting the performance of an airsoft gun. This model from AirsoftPro is made from the same type of SiCr material used in popular Guarder springs. The progressive winding makes compression easier during the first part of the cycle and reaches maximum resistance only when fully compressed. This results in a smoother gearbox start-up and reduces stress on the motor, gears, and other drivetrain components. The spring was tested through live firing and showed no change in length or loss of performance even after 10,000 shots.
