AirsoftParts PST-HS high-speed piston combines a significantly lightened high-strength plastic body with a full metal tooth rack with 14 teeth. The body features a total of 264 lightening holes, reducing the overall piston weight to just 13.9 g. The lower moving mass allows the piston to change direction more quickly and helps reduce dynamic stress on the gearbox, which is particularly beneficial in fast-cycling setups. The second engagement tooth has been removed, providing clearance for proper sector gear engagement and AOE adjustment. The piston can be used in setups with low, high and very high RoF, with a maximum recommended spring of M140. It is compatible with standard V2, V3, V6 and V7 gearboxes, but not with special designs such as PSG-1, SR25 or L85. For high-speed setups, we recommend always checking AOE, timing, tooth engagement and the overall operation of the gear train – a lightweight piston alone cannot replace a properly tuned setup.

No. The design allows it to be used in setups with low, high and very high RoF. However, its low weight provides the greatest benefit where the goal is a fast and properly tuned operating cycle.
What Is the Maximum Spring That Can Be Used With the Piston?
