A properly shimmed gear train can provide smoother and quieter operation, reduced unnecessary friction and lower wear of the gears and bushings or bearings. The set includes three practical thicknesses, 0.1 / 0.2 / 0.5 mm, allowing the shims to be combined to gradually achieve the required clearance for the bevel, spur and sector gear. The shims are made from stainless steel and each one has its thickness laser-marked, making identification much easier during gearbox assembly and repeated disassembly. When shimming, we recommend noting the thicknesses used on the upper and lower side of each gear. The set is intended exclusively for gears with Ø3 mm axles; reinforced gears with 4mm axles require corresponding Ø4 mm shims.
