How to choose the right Tracer BB weight?

The correct weight of illuminating airsoft BBs depends primarily on the gun's performance, the quality and adjustment of the hop-up system and the distance at which you are shooting. Lighter 0.20g BBs are particularly suitable for CQB, shorter distances and lower-powered guns. Heavier weights provide more stable flight over longer distances when used with sufficient power and a correctly adjusted hop-up. Recommendations for using and storing BBs

• Use a tracer unit for illumination. The BBs themselves are not a light source and must be illuminated before firing to create the light trail.
• Keep the BBs clean. Do not return BBs that have fallen into sand, soil or another contaminated environment to the magazine.
• Do not reuse fired BBs. After impact, they may have surface or dimensional damage that can cause problems when fired again.
• Keep magazines and speedloaders clean. Dust and other contaminants can travel from a magazine or speedloader together with the BBs into the hop-up unit and barrel.
• The inner barrel and contact surface of the hop-up bucking must remain clean and dry. Oil or grease in these areas can negatively affect BB spin and shooting consistency.

Can I use Tracer BBs to tell when my magazine is running low?

Yes, if a mid-cap magazine is loaded appropriately. Several tracer BBs placed in the section of the magazine that feeds last can act as a visual warning that you are approaching the end of your ammunition. In other words, load the first 10 shots with tracer BBs. As soon as your shots start glowing, you know you have your last 10 rounds before reloading.
