View larger RetroArms INOX 0.05 mm shims – Ø4 mm are precision service shims for adjusting gear clearance in an AEG gearbox. The stainless steel design with a thickness of just 0.05 mm allows very fine shimming, while the Ø4 mm hole is intended for gears with a 4mm shaft, such as RetroArms PandoRA. The package contains 25 shims.

RetroArms PandoRA 20:1 with 4 mm shafts is a set of CNC steel gears for upgraded AEG builds. All gears are machined from a single piece of steel, and the manufacturer tested them with an M210 spring. The reinforced 4 mm shafts require suitable bearings and shims with a 4 mm inner diameter.

RetroArms PandoRA 16:1 with 4 mm shafts is a set of CNC steel gears for upgraded AEG builds. All gears are machined from a single piece of steel, and the manufacturer tested them with an M210 spring. The reinforced 4 mm shafts require suitable bearings and shims with a 4 mm inner diameter.
RetroArms INOX shims are designed for precise shimming of gears in an AEG gearbox. Correct placement of the shims allows you to adjust the axial play of individual gears and set their relative position so that they can rotate freely without excessive play. This version is only 0.05 mm thick, making it particularly suitable for very fine final adjustment where a conventional thicker shim would already make the fit too tight. The shims are made of stainless steel (INOX) and their Ø4 mm hole is intended for gears with a 4mm shaft, such as reinforced RetroArms PandoRA gears. This is therefore not a version for standard AEG gears with 3mm shafts. The package contains 25 shims, making it suitable both for gearbox builds and as a supply for regular servicing and precise shimming of multiple builds.
The very thin design allows fine final adjustment of gear clearance when a thicker shim would already be too thick for correct setup.
The 4 mm diameter hole is intended for gears with a 4mm shaft, such as reinforced RetroArms PandoRA gears.
The shims are made of stainless steel, which is suitable for long-term use when building and regularly servicing a gearbox.
A correctly selected combination of shims helps adjust axial play and set the position of the gears when shimming an AEG gearbox.
The package contains 25 shims of the same size, providing a sufficient supply for precise adjustment and subsequent servicing of compatible builds.
They are primarily intended for very fine final shimming of gears. They allow clearance to be adjusted in smaller increments than thicker shims, making it possible to fine-tune the gear fit in the gearbox more precisely.
Only if they have a 4 mm diameter shaft. The shims have a Ø4 mm hole and are intended, for example, for corresponding reinforced RetroArms PandoRA gears. For standard gears with 3mm shafts, shims with a correspondingly smaller hole are required.
Shimming adjusts the axial play and relative position of the gears. The goal is to allow the gears to rotate freely while preventing unnecessary lateral play.
Yes. When shimming, different thicknesses of compatible shims can be combined according to the requirements of the specific gearbox. The 0.05 mm version is particularly suitable for fine-tuning the final clearance.
