RetroArms PandoRA 20:1 with 4 mm shafts is a set of CNC steel gears for upgraded AEG builds. All gears are machined from a single piece of steel, and the manufacturer tested them with an M210 spring. The reinforced 4 mm shafts require suitable bearings and shims with a 4 mm inner diameter.

RetroArms PandoRA 16:1 with 4 mm shafts is a set of CNC steel gears for upgraded AEG builds. All gears are machined from a single piece of steel, and the manufacturer tested them with an M210 spring. The reinforced 4 mm shafts require suitable bearings and shims with a 4 mm inner diameter.
RetroArms INOX shims are designed for shimming gears in AEG gearboxes, including compatible NGRS builds. Correct shimming adjusts the axial play of individual gears and sets their relative position so that they can rotate freely without excessive lateral play. Precise adjustment helps reduce unnecessary friction, noise and mechanical stress on the gear train. This version has a thickness of 0.1 mm and a Ø4 mm hole, so it is intended exclusively for gears with 4mm shafts, such as compatible reinforced RetroArms PandoRA gears. It is not suitable for standard AEG gears with 3mm shafts. The package contains a total of 30 stainless steel shims: 10 pieces with a 6 mm outer diameter and 20 pieces with an 8 mm outer diameter. The two outer diameter sizes give technicians more flexibility to select a suitable shim according to the available space around a particular gear, bearing and gearbox design.
The shims allow precise adjustment of gear axial play in 0.1 mm increments and can be combined with other thicknesses as required.
The Ø4 mm inner hole is intended for gears with 4mm shafts, such as compatible reinforced RetroArms PandoRA gears. Standard 3mm shafts are not compatible with this version.
The shims are made of stainless steel and are suitable for repeated use when building, tuning and servicing AEG gearboxes.
The set combines shims with 6 and 8 mm outer diameters, allowing you to choose a suitable size for the specific space around the gear and its mounting.
The set contains 10 Ø6 mm shims and 20 Ø8 mm shims, all 0.1 mm thick and with a hole for a 4mm shaft.
Only if they have a 4 mm diameter shaft. This set has a Ø4 mm inner hole and is intended, for example, for compatible reinforced RetroArms PandoRA gears. For standard gears with 3mm shafts, shims with a smaller inner diameter are required.
The 6 and 8 mm outer diameters allow you to select a more suitable size according to the space around a particular gear, bearing and other gearbox components. The inner hole and thickness remain the same for both versions.
Correct shimming sets the axial play and relative position of the gears. The gears should rotate freely without unnecessary resistance while also avoiding excessive lateral play. Proper shimming therefore helps reduce friction, noise and unnecessary stress on the gear train.
Yes, provided they have the correct inner diameter for a 4mm shaft. Combining different thicknesses allows the final clearance to be fine-tuned more precisely according to the specific gearbox and gears used.
