RetroArms QSC Spring Guide Locking Screw is designed to secure QSC quick-change spring guides in gearboxes where they may occasionally become misaligned. It is especially suitable for gearboxes where the spring guide is not secured to the stock with a screw, for example in some AK models. The screw is made of C45 steel (12 050) using precise CNC machining...

CNC gearbox from RetroArms is a premium foundation for building and upgrading airsoft guns using a Tokyo Marui standard V2 gearbox. The body is precisely CNC machined from aircraft-grade EN AW 7075 T651 aluminium alloy, which offers exceptional strength and significantly higher durability than standard cast zinc gearboxes. The reinforced construction is designed not only for builds using strong springs, but also for players who require longer service life and reliability at standard power levels or in high-speed DSG / TSG builds. The integrated QSC quick spring change system makes servicing and changing the power level much easier without having to completely disassemble the gearbox. The current 2025+ version brings a number of design changes focused on even greater reliability, precision and compatibility. The revised position of the motor and spur gear makes it easier to correctly set the motor gear engagement, while the redesigned space around the piston and spur gear allows the use of a wider range of gear sets. The tappet plate travel is extended by approximately 0.3 mm, which helps optimize BB feeding and allows the use of shorter nozzles. The cylinder seating has also been redesigned. The cylinder now rests on 8 contact surfaces instead of traditional full-length seating, making it easier to install cylinders from different manufacturers.
Further changes focus on the service life and precision of the entire assembly. The increased radius of the front section of the gearbox improves resistance to cracking in this highly stressed area, while the new piston rail geometry optimizes piston guidance. The bearing openings feature glue pockets and are also suitable for RetroArms ANTIROT bearings. The redesigned selector plate guide improves compatibility with components from different brands, while new inspection openings allow the piston position to be monitored when setting the AOE. The cable routing has also been optimized to better separate the wires from moving parts and the ambidextrous selector pin. A dedicated surface for the COMPRING anti-reversal latch has also been added, along with more precise overall surface finishing. CNC machining ensures precise dimensions and correct seating of individual components, but different manufacturing tolerances of airsoft guns and parts must still be taken into account. Installation of the CNC gearbox requires advanced servicing skills and precise centering of the entire assembly inside the gun body. It is therefore not a universal Plug & Play replacement.
